MR Imaging Findings of Patellar Tendon after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction with Bone-Tendon-Bone Autograft

چکیده
reconstruction by means of bone-patellar-bone (BTB) autografting is an increasingly popular procedure for the stabillization of ACL-deficient knee (1, 2). The central one-third of the patellar tendon and bony plugs are excised together to increase strength, durability and elasticity (3, 4) and the donor site is allowed to heal by primary intensification. The outcome of ACL reconstruction, using patellar tendon, is usually excellent, but several authors have reported certain complications. Among these, quadriceps weakness, flexion contracture and patello-femoral pain are common (5, 6). Infrapatellar contracture syndrome and patellar tendon J Korean Radiol Soc 2002;46:67-72

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction with or without Bracing
Background: Rupture of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) would cause instability and disability and if left untreated. Reconstruction is performed by different techniques including patellar bone graft, as the strongest device. Application of brace after ACL reconstructions has revealed doubtful results. Methods: One hundred ACL ruptured patients randomized into two groups were reconstructed with...
متن کاملAnatomy, Biology and Biomechanics of Patellar Tendon Autograft Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Autologous bone-patellar tendon-bone autograft is a common choice for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and from both biologic and biomechanical perspectives is well-suited for this purpose. A centrally harvested, 10 mm wide patellar tendon graft has an estimated initial load-to-failure of 2977 N, and interference screw fixation of associated bone blocks provides initial pull-out streng...
متن کاملAnterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Basics: Bone–Patellar Tendon–Bone Autograft Harvest
Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with bone-patellar tendon-bone autograft has long been considered the graft preference for young, active patients with anterior cruciate ligament injuries. The central-third of the native patellar tendon is a reliable graft and is the preferred option for competitive athletes given its excellent track record with high return-to-play rates and low failur...
متن کاملArthroscopic Anatomic Single-Bundle Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Using Bone–Patellar Tendon–Bone Autograft: Pearls for an Accurate Reconstruction
An anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear is one of the most common orthopaedic injuries. Optimal results are not always achieved after surgical reconstruction after a surgical technical error, namely, tunnel malposition. Understanding of the anatomy is vital, and several anatomic landmarks can be used to aid in an optimal reconstruction technique. The purpose of this Technical Note is to descri...
متن کاملDisruption of the knee extensor apparatus complicating anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
Disruption of the knee extensor apparatus, after harvesting the central third of the patellar tendon for a bone-tendon-bone autograft, is a rare complication. We made 2215 reconstructions of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee using bone-patellar tendon-bone technique, and 10 patients had fracture of the patella (0.45%), and fore patients had rupture of the patellar tendon (0.18%). The f...
